Kala has been recreating iconic frames from the past, as well as designing new and unusual shapes for today’s wearer for more than 25 years.  Acetate frames are handmade in California with premium, raw acetate materials imported from Japan and Italy.  Each frame is cut and polished by hand at Kala’s headquarters in California. Artisans in a luxury factory in Japan skillfully craft the frames made of metal.

On a trip through Rochester, New York several years ago, Daniel (the owner/designer of Kala) stopped by One Hip Chic Optical.  I enjoyed the simplicity and straightforwardness of his styles.  Supporting Daniel (a good person through and through) and a US made product is important to me.
